I wanted to share an interview of my father that was recently published in a well-known chiropractic journal. He was asked to do the interview because he is the first chiropractor in the country to have his practice acquired by a hospital organization. Although hospital acquisition of medical practices of every specialty is nothing new within the medical field, and actually quite common, never before has a chiropractic practice been bought out by a hospital. Twenty years ago, such a relationship would have been unimaginable, as chiropractors were looked down upon by medical doctors. I have seen a significant change in physicians’ opinions of chiropractors over my lifetime, and it is due to the diligence, integrity and pursuit of perfection of people like my father. He has been my greatest role model throughout my life and almost everything I know about what it takes to be a good physician I learned from him. So, it came as no surprise to me when I first heard the news that my dad was the first to be bestowed with this honor. I am extremely proud of him. Every physician/practitioner should read this article.
