Your Virtual Plastic Surgery Consultation
Many of our out of town patients like to schedule a virtual consultation with us, allowing you to discuss the procedure and enhancements you desire from the time and place convenient to you. Typically, a virtual consultation occurs over the phone and can last anywhere from 20-45 minutes. In certain cases, we can coordinate a Skype or video call. Consultation fees will be discussed with you prior to the call or video chat with Dr. Tarola and his specialists.
Prior to your virtual consultation, you will be asked to complete our new patient forms and take photographs of the desired treatment areas. Dr. Tarola and his specialists use these photographs purely as a reference for your procedure. Your photos are highly confidential and will become part of your private medical record with us. After your virtual consultation and if it’s decided that the treatment or procedure may be right for you, you will be able to schedule a tentative date for your procedure following an in-office appointment. Many of our out of town guests schedule an in-person appointment 1-2 days before their procedure date to meet us and further discuss goals for their renewed aesthetic.
Confidentiality of Your Photos and Medical Information

Our team members continually receive training so that we ensure your privacy and comply with government regulations pertaining to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) with an emphasis on patient privacy. We ask our out of town patients to consider your virtual consultation like an in-office appointment. Should you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact us at 615-713-1695 at least 48 hours prior to the time of your virtual consultation.
After Your Virtual Consultation
Pre-Op and Surgery Schedule
Once you and Dr. Tarola have decided on a tentative surgical plan, our out of town coordinator will help you determine your travel arrangements and finding accommodations near our office. A deposit for your surgery will be required to secure your procedural dates.
Your Pre-Operative Visit
Your first visit with Dr. Tarola and his specialists will include your initial appointment with a physical and medical history evaluation. Pre-operative and post-operative forms and instructions will be given to you before your procedure. The pre-operative packet will contain copies of these forms and instructions for your records. Please take the time to look over this packet in its entirety and have them available during your appointments.
Your Surgical Visit
Your procedure will be performed here at Tarola Plastic Surgery. Dr. Tarola practices with the latest procedures and approaches in mind, using cutting-edge technology and leading highly-trained specialists to ensure an unforgettable experience. Should your procedure require a hospital stay, we can refer you to one closeby to ensure a proper recovery.
Your Post-Operative Visits and Recovery
Out of town patients who may be receiving surgery should plan on staying in the Nashville area for approximately 7-10 days. Some procedures can require a shorter recovery while others may be longer. Ultimately, the procedure you receive will ultimately determine a recovery timeframe. Dr. Tarola and his team will discuss this with you during your virtual consultation and help you plan accordingly.
Our staff will schedule a follow-up appointment with you so we can properly monitor your recovery. Our out of town coordinator will inform you of available dates and times for your follow-up appointment. Patients will not be charged for their follow-up.
Journey to Nashville
Nashville and its surrounding communities are some of the fastest growing in the country. Nashville recently became the largest city in Tennessee and Murfreesboro, roughly 20 minutes southeast of Nashville, is for a second year one of nation’s 15 fastest-growing large cities.
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is located on the Cumberland River in Davidson County. Nicknamed “Music City, U.S.A.”, Nashville is the home of the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and many major record labels. Since much earlier times it has been called the “Athens of the South”, for its educational institutions and classical architecture. Nashville is also a major hub for the health care and publishing industries.
Many popular tourist sites involve country music, including the Country Music Hall of Fame and Ryman Auditorium, which was for many years the site of the Grand Ole Opry. Each year, the Country Music Association’s Fan Fair (renamed “CMA Music Festival” in 2003) brings many thousands of country fans to the city.
If walking is your thing, be sure to take the historic John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for its great views over the Cumberland River. Another popular thing to do is walking to (and around) the trendy Germantown area, known for its boutique shops and superb restaurants. There are also plenty of great music-themed walks to enjoy. One of the most popular is the Music City Walk of Fame located on Nashville’s “Music Mile.” Here, you can trace the city’s influence on music through a series of plaques dedicated to acts and artists who all have a connection to the city and its rich musical history. This, along with the city’s many pleasant parks and people-friendly streets, make it one of the top cities in the US to explore the old-fashioned way.
